Amazing how on time this article is, Jacquline. Exactly 3 days ago I decided to brave my disgust of sauces (the kind that go with hamburgers and fries).

I kept explaining to who would listen what had happened when I was about 4 years old. I was with my parents in a hotel and they had ordered room service. I mistook the elegant mayonnaise twist for whipped cream and took a big spoonful... only to be disgusted ever after by mayonnaise and everything that came near to that texture.

Now, 30 something years later, I realized I was still letting my present be defined by that event. So I dared dip one of my fries in my husband's Brazil sauce. Not exquisite, but not terrible either. And thus I overcame my past experience, it no longer defines my present - I have broken free from the chains I was wearing to protect myself.

We did it Jacquline!
