Wow Jacquline, thank you so much for sharing. I love how you point out how this or that event shaped your beliefs. And also how you say "adopted" beliefs, meaning they can be reviewed and updated. I'm inspired by your hard work to find a way out of poverty and the richness of values you've transmitted to your son. You are the embodiment of "where there's a will, there's a way." You made me think of Mathilda's Miss Honey, the kind schoolteacher.

As for the rich man and Lazarus, it is interesting to note that "father Abraham" was in fact immensely rich. Which invalidates the idea that the rich are doomed just because they're rich.
